Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton came into the limelight in 1994 when she debuted her first album Age Ain't nothing but A number. The album was Gold in the year she turned fifteen years old. It was made as an album that was heavily influenced by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In 1996, she released her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album featured the number one hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally for her work as an R&B artist following their release of the second album One in a Million. Aaliyah appeared alongside legendary Jet-Li, the famous martial artist in Romeo Must Die (2000) which was an action-packed romantic film. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at the awards ceremony and kindly offered her the part. In 2002, she was in the vampire movie Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels saw her play Zee, after appearing as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. Though her first career was dominated by minor films and television performances, she rose to greater prominence in the mid-2000s. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. The commercials she has done have been for major brands, such as Volvo. She lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her spouse, daughter, and husband. She is also pursuing her acting career.
