Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens also known as Queen Latifah is an American rapper singer. Queen Latifah's performance in music film and television has earned her a Golden Globe award two Screen Actors Guild Awards two Image Awards a Grammy Award and six more Grammy nominations an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. Queen Latifah was raised in Newark, NJ. Her parents are Rita Owens, Sr. and Lancelot Owens Jr. Latifahs parents split up when Latifah was ten years old. was ten years old. Latifah attended Catholic School in Newark, the state of New Jersey. She was also raised by her family's Baptist Church. The stage name Latifah is a reference to delicate and compassionate in Arabic was bestowed by her cousin at the age of she was just eight years old.
