Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his distinctive blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in churches. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her music career on the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The Fighting Temptations The single with her voice on it, Stalk You a House 12 was released only in Japan. The song has been re-mixed several times, and has become a staple of her live shows. Her voice has also been a part of singing in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. Her role was as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the choir leader of this stage show. Sunshine was at the center of attention for people across the nation through daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
