Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived in a musical family on 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is a cousin and daughter to the singing sensation Dionne. As a young girl, Houston began singing professionally with the choir of her church. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's song from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were a few of those who she sang with. She was also briefly as a model for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to build on the success of her first album. It was, however the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her status as one the world's most well-known artist. The movie and her role in it was not appreciated, but the soundtrack as well as her version of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was a hit for a few months in the charts, and she sold over 44 million albums and singles all over the world.
